The territory of Parteolla is located in the eastern territory of the vast metropolitan area of Cagliari, is an area partly mountainous, partly flat, has always favored livestock and agricultural activities, especially the cultivation of vines, olive trees and orchards. It can boast of agricultural and food and wine excellences that are recognized internationally and nationally, it is a territory with great development possibilities as it holds a unique treasure linked to the land, and the production of excellent wines,the territory has within it one of the most important wineries in the area and that is that of Dolianova where you can taste excellent wines.

The territory especially in the mountainous area of Sarrabus Gerrei was the place where the ancient Nuragic peoples resided and dedicated themselves to hunting because of the large presence of game. The territory boasts an ancient tradition linked to the agro-pastoral world,and to this day they are remembered with events of equestrian skill (S’Attobiu de is Parigliantis) that take place in the ancient Churches of S. Lucia, San Giorgio and San Michele. Historical re- enactments are also remembered as in medieval times the territory of Parteolla was part of the judicate of Cagliari.

This territory is rich in places of worship,some of them dating back to the ‘Romanesque period. The most important is the one dedicated to San Pantaleo and was part of the ancient diocese of Dolia,we also find monasteries founded in 1089 at the behest of the judge of Cagliari and were dedicated to San Genesio and San Giorgio.There is also a large number of other Churches in this eastern area of Cagliari and Sarrabus Gerrei, some of them were of rural type mainly because of the type of place where they were built, that is in contact with nature.
