Hello im Mattia , i’m a student in historical heritages and passionate of minerary and medioeval history.
I ‘ll invite you to live an unique experience in the South West coast of sardinia ,and particullary Iglesias a city rich of history and traditions,were i was born and currently live.At 16:30 pm will meet at the parking lot of Bindua ( a tiny village at the foot of the old Normann minerary village) . We shall proceed for a suggestive visit of Santa Barbara cave. Walking trough the first gallery about 700 mt long, aboard an electric train ,until we reach 150 mt above the level of the sea, then with a lift ,we will go up along a minerary pit which will take us to one of the most ancient caves in the world dating back about 500 milion years ago ( Inferior Cambric Period) Will take us about 1 hour and a half to admire the marvels of the underground and their natural monuments among which limestone columns whose reach 25 mt of height, hence called the Cathedral of the Mountain. An emotional journey in the hearth of the earth, with his silences and mysteries. At about 18 :30 pm we head back to Bindua and proceed towards the panoramic sight of Nebida ,changing completly the scenary of our afternoon, we go from the darkness of the mountain heart , to the breathtaking colours of the sunset with Pan di Zucchero, the highest limestone rock in Europe, We’ll be enticed by the magic atmosphere of a sunset by the sea and will bid goodbye after an aperitive at the 906 Operaio Bar/pizzeria on the panoramic sight of Nebida, admiring the unic colours of the coast as the sun sets down.
